Voluntary Research on Aride

Volunteers are required to produce a research report covering any work undertaken whilst on the island. A laptop will be made available for this purpose and the Wardens will assist and provide help on all aspects, from layout to statistical analysis of data where necessary. This report must be completed, at least in a draft form, on the island before departure. All reports are included in the annual scientific report produced by the Wardens and widely distributed locally and internationally. It is therefore very much in your interests to have your work included in this.

Should you have any specific projects in mind before coming to Aride, please contact the Wardens directly at least one month in advance of your arrival. They will then be able to advise on both the validity and logistics of any suggestions. Please bear in mind that flexibility is essential, as something which is essentially simple, may be rendered difficult or impossible as a result of the remoteness of the island.
