Every occupied house now has running water and a shower, which is such an improvement on carrying heavy buckets from the well. The system of pumping the water up from the well to the tank on the hill is working well, despite earlier concerns the water pressure is excellent. This has meant that the island occupants now even have their very own washing machine which is a huge step forward in improving living conditions and making life a little easier on the island.
